How to Request an Account on the Computing Cluster#
The Institut Pasteur offers a computing cluster facility to run bioinformatics tools on biological data.
To obtain an account on the cluster, follow these steps:

- Access the Course
- Go to: https://moocs.pasteur.fr/courses/course-v1:Institut_Pasteur+DSI_01+1/about

⚠️ If you encounter a 502 Bad Gateway error, try copying the link into a private browsing window (e.g., Incognito mode).

Register

Click on "Register" on the course page.

Sign In
- Choose "Sign in with Pasteur".

Enter your Pasteur login and password.

Complete the Course
- Watch all videos in the course.
- Complete each corresponding quiz.

🔍 Note: Don’t worry if the topic numbers are not consecutive — just make sure all content is completed.

Request Your Account

Once you’ve finished the course, send an email to:
ask-hpc@pasteur.fr
In your email, include:- Your Pasteur login
- The name or acronym of your research unit

Wait for Confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been created.

Access the Cluster
- After confirmation, log in to the cluster.
- Start replicating the commands you’ve seen in the videos and the SPOC’s wiki to get familiar with the environment.
