How to Request an Account on the Computing Cluster#

The Institut Pasteur offers a computing cluster facility to run bioinformatics tools on biological data.

To obtain an account on the cluster, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Course
  2. Go to: https://moocs.pasteur.fr/courses/course-v1:Institut_Pasteur+DSI_01+1/about
  3. ⚠️ If you encounter a 502 Bad Gateway error, try copying the link into a private browsing window (e.g., Incognito mode).

  4. Register

  5. Click on "Register" on the course page.

  6. Sign In

  7. Choose "Sign in with Pasteur".
  8. Enter your Pasteur login and password.

  9. Complete the Course

  10. Watch all videos in the course.
  11. Complete each corresponding quiz.
  12. 🔍 Note: Don’t worry if the topic numbers are not consecutive — just make sure all content is completed.

  13. Request Your Account

  14. Once you’ve finished the course, send an email to:
    ask-hpc@pasteur.fr
    In your email, include:

    • Your Pasteur login
    • The name or acronym of your research unit
  15. Wait for Confirmation

  16. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been created.

  17. Access the Cluster

  18. After confirmation, log in to the cluster.
  19. Start replicating the commands you’ve seen in the videos and the SPOC’s wiki to get familiar with the environment.
